Travelodge appoints former Jack Wills CIO as chief technology officer
Travelodge has appointed James Hellewell, the former Jack Wills chief information officer, as its new chief technology officer.
In his new position, Hellewell will report to Peter Gowers, Travelodge group chief executive, and be a member of the group’s operating board.
Having joined Jack Wills in 2014, Hellewell was chief information officer and transformation director at the fashion retailer for nearly four years and led the transformation of its digital and in-store technology platforms.
Prior to Jack Wills, he held senior technology and programme management roles at Selfridges, Home Retail Group, Carphone Warehouse and BUPA Australia, following an earlier career with Deloitte.
In his new position, Hellewell will ensure that innovative technology enhances the customer experience at Travelodge and helps to drive the business forward.
Gowers said: “We are delighted to welcome James as our new chief technology officer. He brings extensive experience in driving digital and multi-site technology improvements in fast paced customer environments. His background in retail will be invaluable as we continue our ongoing drive to strengthen our customer service and productivity.”
