Sweatband.com hires chief executive

Sweatband.com has appointed Dean Jackson as its chief executive following global fitness giant Dyaco taking a majority shareholding in the business.

Jackson has 18 years’ experience in the sporting goods industry, the majority of which were spent at RFE where he managed global expansion and the licensee business with Reebok and Adidas. He has joined the fitness and sports equipment specialist from his previous role as UK managing director of Nautilus.

In his new position, he will be managing the development of Sweatband’s UK store presence and looking at key international growth markets.

As part of the strategy, Sweatband founder Maz Darvish has taken on the role of chief transformation officer.

Darvish said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be working with Dean. His wealth of experience working with global brands makes this an important milestone in the growth story of Sweatband.com. Dean and I share a common vision for the opportunities ahead for Sweatband.com, its own brands as well as the extended brand portfolio available through our new parent company, Dyaco International.”

Sweatband.com has been selling sports and fitness products for more than twenty years through its website and central London showroom.
