Sports Direct acquires stake in Game Digital

Sports Direct has acquired a 26% stake in video games retailer Game Digital.
In a statement, Game Digital said it was looking forward to working with the company to explore opportunities in the gaming, live events and rapidly growing esports market.
Sports Direct has acquired 44 million shares in the business.
Last month, Game warned that its full year profits will be “substantially below” previous expectations following low supplies of Nintendo Switch to the UK market.
