Snow Peak to open debut UK store at St James’s Market
Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak is to open its first UK store at St James’s Market.
The central London scheme is a joint venture between The Crown Estate and Oxford Properties.
The new shop will span 4,300 square feet and have a shopping area split over three floors. The basement will include a space where retail staff can demonstrate products to customers and there will be a tea and coffee bar on the ground floor.
The store will sell a range of Snow Peak’s Japanese camping equipment, gear and clothing.
Kei Saito, director of Snow Peak UK, said: “When looking for a flagship store in Europe, we were excited to find such a great retail space in St James’s Market. Surrounded by specialty stores and restaurants with a quality focus, we are very happy to begin our new chapter of the business here.”
Other retail brands within St James’s Market include Aspinal of London, SMEG, Paul & Shark, ASSOS and Jigsaw St James’s Emporium. Restaurants within the scheme include Aquavit and Ikoyi, Scully St James’s, Duck & Waffle Local, Ole & Steen and Urban Tea Rooms. A new gastropub called The Beau Brummell will also be joining the line-up.
