Presto Music launches ‘My Library’ web streaming feature

Presto Music has launched a new ‘My Library’ feature on its website as it looks to offer customers new ways to explore and listen to their CD and download collections.

By clicking on the ‘My Library’ link within the ‘My account’ section of the website, customers can see every item they have ever purchased from Presto online, ranging from CDs to downloads. The feature also enables customers to play their music and go straight from checkout to ‘My Library’ and start listening to the music they have bought within seconds.

Rob Ferrer, chief technology officer of Presto Music, said: “Our business experienced its best year ever in 2020, with CDs up by 18% and downloads up by an astonishing 48%, which means that there is clearly a demand for jazz and classical music. There is a beautiful, escapist quality to these musical genres but they’re not as conspicuously featured on the more prominent streaming platforms. Presto’s own platform will provide our customers with a more bespoke listening experience, one that is shaped by their personal taste and buying choices when it comes to jazz and classical music.”

The built-in web-player means customers can continue to browse the rest of the website while their music plays. Presto said the quality of the stream matches that of what was purchased and is able to reach a high-resolution audio of 24bit 192 kHz.

Chris O’Reilly, chief executive of Presto Music, said: “As 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of Presto Music’s website and the 35th anniversary of the company, we’re very excited to be launching this new service in such an important year for the business. We are very passionate about optimising our platform to deliver the best customer experience and we’re confident we’ve achieved that with the launch of My Library.”
