NBA and Decathlon announce multiyear partnership expansion
DECATHLON, one of the world’s largest sporting goods retailers, and the National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced a multiyear expansion of their existing merchandising partnership that will provide fans in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America with a wider range of officially-licensed NBA products.
Sold under DECATHLON’S basketball offer, the collection includes NBA team and league-branded products, accessories, basketball footwear, lifestyle apparel and backboards that will be sold exclusively in more than 1,700 DECATHLON stores and online. In future seasons, the collaboration will feature customisable institutional teamwear sets for basketball teams to design their own teamwear.
“This renewed and extended merchandising partnership demonstrates the confidence the NBA has in DECATHLON products and expertise,” said Fabien Brosse, DECATHLON’S Chief Products and Sports Officer. “Together, DECATHLON and the NBA share the same passion for sport, regardless of age, experience level or background. This renewed collaboration definitely symbolizes our commitment to move people through the wonders of sport.”
“This expansion is the natural extension of our collaboration with the NBA,” said Jeremy Angelard, DECATHLON Basketball Leader. “We are proud to continue the creation of more responsible and qualitative sports products that will delight basketball fans, players and customers.”
“We are thrilled to expand on our relationship with DECATHLON following the successful launch of the NBA DECATHLON range in 2021,” said NBA Europe and Middle East Senior Director, Global Partnerships, Steve Griffiths. “We look forward to providing fans and players with a wider range of NBA products to express their passion for the game of basketball.”
