Manchester City set to open interactive store at Manchester Arndale
The Manchester City football club is set to open a new store at the Manchester Arndale shopping centre today.
The Premier League champions have taken a former Pink unit at the scheme.
To mark the opening and recent league title win, the club’s Premier League trophy will be on display in the store from 9am on Friday until 6pm on Sunday to enable fans to have their photo taken with the iconic silverware. Customers will also be able to experience the new digital activities within the store, including the ‘Meet the Players’ interactive video wall.
Manchester City’s new club shop will sit alongside other popular sports and leisure stores such as Footlocker, JD Sports and Sports Direct.
Serena Gosling, director of integrated fan experience and retail and licensing at Manchester City, said: “It is hugely exciting for us to launch our brand new City Store in Manchester Arndale – another important development in what has been an incredible year of retail sales for the club, and continues to strengthen.
The Manchester Arndale store launch is a proud development for the club, and I’d like to thank our retail partner Stichd and its staff for their support in opening this new store. I’d also like to thank them for their commitment to helping us continue to offer a best-in-class retail service for our fans and members.”
Manchester City’s arrival follows a string of new retail lettings at Manchester Arndale, including Miniso, Gilly Hicks, Clarks, and Flying Tiger.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “The arrival of Manchester City demonstrates our commitment to delivering a vibrant retail destination that chimes with local shoppers as well as visitors from further afield who are looking to immerse themselves in the city’s culture.
“With such a significant name joining the centre it’s clear there is continued demand for well-placed retail units, and we are delighted to see confidence in Manchester Arndale’s long-term performance.”
Manchester Arndale welcomes over 42 million visitors in an average year and has a line-up of over 200 shops and restaurants.
