JD to expand across the UK and Ireland
From Cork to Wembley, the ‘King of Trainers’ will launch shops across a range of locations featuring DJ’s plus Ballnado and Batak activation games on opening weekends.
JD, the leading retailer of sports, fashion and lifestyle brands is set to open four new stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland this Summer.
New stores are due to launch in Lowestoft, Cork and Wembley in August and Sheffield in September as the retail giant continues its expansion into new locations.
JD will ensure local residents and buyers are provided with their fix of all their favourite brands including Nike, Adidas, The North Face, and Under Armour, re-enforcing its ranking as the leading trainer and sports fashion retailer in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
To mark the store launches, JD is hosting several in-store experiences to engage consumers across the initial opening weekends. A live DJ plus a Batak game which challenges participants to hit as many lit up buttons as possible will be available to shoppers at JD’s Cork, Wembley and Sheffield stores.
For its opening weekend in August, JD’s new Lowestoft store will feature a Ballnado game where consumers can compete by collecting as many balls as possible. What’s more, the highest scorer at each opening will win JD gift cards at all locations.

Lowestoft: Launching Thursday 22nd August with an opening weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August. Opening times: Monday – Saturday 9am – 6pm, Sunday 10am – 4pm.
Cork: Launching Thursday 29th August with an opening weekend of Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September. Opening times: Monday – Wednesday 9:30am – 7pm, Thursday 9:30am – 9pm, Friday 9:30am – 9pm, Saturday 9:30am – 9pm, Sunday 10am – 6pm.
Wembley: Launching Thursday 29th August with an opening weekend of Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September. Opening times: Monday – Saturday 9am – 7pm, Sunday 11am – 5pm.
Sheffield: Launching Thursday 5h September with an opening weekend of Saturday 7th August and Sunday 8th September. Opening times: Monday – Friday 9am – 8pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 9am – 7pm.
