JD Sports expands presence in Blackburn

JD Sports is expanding its presence in Blackburn this month with the opening of a second store in the town at Hyndburn retail park.

Due to launch on 19 November, the new shop will allow the retailer to stock even more ranges across fashion, footwear and accessories from brands such as Nike, Adidas and The North Face.

Local residents will also be able to get their hands on New Balance Women’s apparel which is not yet available in the retailer’s existing Lord Square unit.

With the new Hyndburn Park space, which spans 4,484 square feet, the retailer will be hoping to benefit from the retail park’s annual footfall of 2.54 million shoppers.

During the opening weekend, JD will be offering customisation on all footwear purchases.

James Air, head of group acquisitions at JD, said: “We are really pleased to be opening on Hyndburn Retail Park in Blackburn. This will be a large, full format store which will really complement our existing town centre provision. We are looking forward to having it open just in time for Christmas shopping.”
