Hobbycraft helps Artisan colleagues launch their own product ranges
Hobbycraft has announced that it has set up a panel of its senior management team for its Artisan programme to enable staff to pitch their ideas for new ranges.
The retailer launched the programme last year to give staff members the chance to design and create their own lines to sell. Three ranges were selected for the first tranche.
The new panel has now hosted a pitch event to give other staff the opportunity to present their ideas. Hobbycraft is looking to place a further 19 ranges onto its shelves later this year, all of which came off the back of the panel event.
There are currently 54 Artisan colleagues working at Hobbycraft and the retailer is looking to increase this to 100 by the end of the year.
Dominic Jordan, chief executive at Hobbycraft, said: “Our colleagues make Hobbycraft the leader in the market and this fantastic initiative helps us to further nurture our colleagues and develop their amazing talent and skills, all while delivering the best possible experience for our customers. We have pledged to grow the Artisan programme and are looking forward to developing a robust programme that supports our creative colleague’s growth and development.”
