23 November, 2020 | by Angela Beevers
Car parts and cycling retailer Halfords is to create 1,100 temporary roles in the lead-up to Christmas.
The company said the positions will be service related roles in its retail stores.
Halfords has experienced a big increase in demand for cycles over the past few months. In its interim results last week, the retailer said like-for-like sales in the category rose by 54.4% in the six months to 2 October. Growth in e-bike sales was particularly strong with an uplift of 184%.
The temporary vacancies are in addition to a number of permanent roles Halfords is recruiting for in its stores, autocentres and mobile vans.
