Games Workshop expects rise in full year profit
Games Workshop has said it expects to post a rise in full year profit as it reported that it had continued to experience good trading since the issue of its interim results in January.
In a trading update today, the retailer said both sales and profits are ahead year-on-year and that royalties receivable have also increased following the signing of new licence agreements.
In January Games Workshop reported that revenue in the six months to 2 December climbed to £125.2 million from £109.6 million in the corresponding period in the previous year. Operating profit and pre-tax profit rose from a previous £38.1 million to £40.8 million in the period.
The retailer is expecting its pre-tax profit for the year ending 2 June to come in at around £80 million compared to £74.5 million in the prior year.
Games Workshop has also announced that its board has declared a dividend of 35 pence per share in line with its policy of distributing surplus cash. This will be paid on 31 May 2019 for shareholders on the register at 26 April 2019, with an ex-dividend date of 25 April 2019.
