Foot Locker to upsize store at Manchester Arndale

Foot Locker is to relocate is Manchester Arndale store to a larger unit at the centre as it looks to create a new experience-led shop.

The sportswear and footwear retailer will upsize to a 14,000 square foot space on Halle Mall following many years of trading at its smaller Market Street store.

Due to open in 2020, the split-level store will combine retail space with areas designed for events, demonstrations and customer experiences.

Jointly owned by M&G Real Estate and Intu, Manchester Arndale welcomes over 40 million visitors per annum.

Colin Flinn, regional managing director at Intu, said: “Foot Locker’s expansion reinforces Manchester Arndale as one of the north’s leading fashion hubs. In recent months, we have seen a number of leading brands join our line-up, creating an impressive mix of clothing and footwear options to suit all tastes.”

The news follows the opening of a Uniqlo store at the centre in April and the addition of Metro Bank and Rituals to its line-up in recent weeks.
