Castore continues UK expansion with new store at Gateshead’s Metrocentre
Premium sportswear brand Castore has launched a new store at Gateshead’s Metrocentre as it continues its expansion across the UK.
The shop is the company’s second Newcastle United FC store in its portfolio.
Situated on the shopping centre’s upper Red Mall opposite Flannels, the 2,500 square foot space will offer Newcastle United fans and Metrocentre customers the chance to shop a range of technical and multi-functional sports clothing and accessories.
Founded in 2015 by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, Castore currently has 13 other stores in the UK and is planning to open a further 15 this year.
After launching a partnership with Rangers FC in 2020, the company’s portfolio has grown significantly with the addition of Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, McLaren Formula 1 and England Cricket. The company has also partnered with a number of athletes, including Grand Slam tennis champion, Andy Murray, England Rugby Union captain, Owen Farrell, England cricketer, Jos Buttler, and multiple gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer and world record holder, Adam Peaty.
Tom Beahon said: “After months of hard work, we are pleased to be able to open our doors today at Metrocentre Gateshead. The centre felt like the obvious next step for us as a brand after settling into our new Stadium Store at St James’ Park, as another way for us to reach the dedicated and engaged NUFC fans as well as sportswear enthusiasts in the North East. We are thrilled to be part of the Metrocentre family and can’t wait to welcome customers through our doors.”
