Brompton Bicycle trials direct-to-home service

Cycle manufacturer Brompton Bicycle is piloting a new direct-to-home service to enable customers to buy bikes direct from its factory.

Introduced to meet increased demand for home delivery during the coronavirus crisis, the ‘Brompton To You’ service will allow customers to purchase a wide range of Brompton’s stock bikes on its website

Delivery will be offered free of charge and customers will be provided with a range of other purchasing options including a buy now, pay later service.

Stephen Loftus, chief commercial officer at Brompton, said: “Cycling has been deemed an essential service by the UK government and we have a responsibility to ensure that key workers are able to access bikes easily to make essential journeys.

“Launching a direct to home delivery service allows those who need to buy a bike the opportunity to do so not only when many stores have restricted opening times, or have closed – but also in a convenient way that poses a lower risk of contact than visiting a physical store at this time”

The trial has also been opened up to Brompton’s existing accredited dealers to enable them to offer the new service to their own customers.
