ASICS hires Gary Raucher to lead new category organisation

ASICS has appointed Gary Raucher to lead a new category organisation as it looks to drive growth in its running, core performance sports and sports style categories in its EMEA region.

With the job title executive vice president – category, Raucher will lead the marketing, merchandising and product functions.

Prior to joining ASICS, Raucher co-founded a strategic brand consultancy and was also global head of marketing at TomTom and global head of brand and communications at Philips. In both roles, he was credited with leading marketing transformation programmes that accelerated business growth.

Alistair Cameron, chief executive of ASICS EMEA, said: “Gary is a highly experienced marketing leader with an outstanding track record of building global brands. With Gary leading our new category organisation, I am confident we will accelerate our future growth. The recent changes we have made to our organisation will enable us to drive category-specific strategies and take a more holistic view of the market.”
