Angling Direct appoints group chief financial officer
Angling Direct has appointed Steven Crowe as group chief financial officer.
The fishing tackle and equipment retailer has also announced that interim finance director Ian Hunter will step down from Angling Direct’s board on 31 January to enable him to develop his own consultancy business. This will include working on Angling Direct projects when required.
Due to join Angling Direct on 2 January, Crowe began his career at PwC where he qualified as a chartered accountant. He then spent ten years with Aviva where his final role was FP&A director. More recently, he has held the position of chief financial officer at Validus.
Angling Direct chief executive Darren Bailey said: “The board would like to thank Ian for his significant contribution to the group, helping it through its IPO and establishing the company on AIM.
“We are delighted to welcome Steve as chief financial officer of Angling Direct at an exciting time in the group’s development. We look forward to working with Steve as we continue to deliver our multichannel growth strategy.”
