Amer Sports completes acquisition of Peak Performance

Amer Sports Corporation has completed its acquisition of sportswear brand Peak Performance from IC Group.

The business will now be consolidated into Amer Sports on 2 July and will have a minor positive impact onthe company’s 2018 financial results.

Following the acquisition, Amer Sports has now set up a new apparel category structure to facilitate faster growth, scale and synergy across the Arc’teryx, Salomon, and Peak Performance apparel brands.

This will be headed up by executive board president Jon Hoerauf, who was previously general manager of Arc’teryx and has now been appointed as president of Amer Sports apparel category. Hoerauf has a long career in the apparel and outdoor industry and has worked with Amer Sports for the last six years. In his new position, he will continue to report to Amer Sports president and chief executive Heikki Takala.

Takala said: “With Peak Performance in the portfolio, we are now increasingly well positioned to accelerate our growth in soft goods. To enable this acceleration and to achieve our targeted operational scale benefits across the portfolio, we are re-establishing an apparel category structure. We are pleased to appoint a strong internal leader with an outstanding track record, Jon Hoerauf, as president for the category.”
