ABG expands Reebok’s footprint in Canada through new SportChek deal

Following its acquisition of Reebok, Authentic Brands Group has embarked on an expanded partnership with multichannel retailer SportChek as part of plans to extend the footwear brand’s retail footprint in Canada.

The long-term agreement will see SportChek carry Reebok clothing and footwear for men, women and kids across 300 of its corporate-owned stores and ecommerce websites in the country.

All products stocked in SportChek stores will be sourced from Reebok Design Group.

Nick Woodhouse, president and chief marketing officer at ABG, said: “We are thrilled to expand Reebok’s footprint at SportChek. As a native Canadian I am personally acquainted with Canada’s vast retail landscape, and there is no question that SportChek is the quintessential destination in the region for consumers seeking active and lifestyle brands.”

SportChek expects the rollout of the expanded range across its retail fascias, which also includes Sports Experts, will begin in the autumn of 2022. The  partnership is non-exclusive so Reebok products will continue to be sold in various other retail locations across Canada.

Stephen Brinkley, president of SportChek, said: “SportChek is proud to partner with ABG and expand its role as a key retail destination in Canada for Reebok. Reebok provides an incredible product assortment and brand value to our customers, and we look forward to partnering with RDG on an enhanced Reebok offering of high quality and modern styles.”
