VIA Outlets hires first sustainability director
VIA Outlets has appointed Geert Paemen as its first group sustainability director.
In the newly created role, she will oversee and develop the company’s sustainability strategy across its business operations and eleven European fashion outlet centres.
Paemen has spent the last six years working as global director for sustainability at Telefonica. Prior to that, she was head of strategy at the Telefonica Foundation and also worked as a lawyer at various international law firms.
Otto Ambagtsheer, chief executive of VIA Outlets, said: “The appointment of Geert strengthens VIA Outlets’ commitment to sustainability and social responsibility and is part of an ongoing strategy to reduce our carbon footprint and ensure we as a business are fit for the future. Geert’s experience in the field will help us stay at the top of the game at this critical point for the climate.”
