The Marlowes hires new general manager

The Marlowes shopping centre in Hemel Hempstead has appointed Humphrey Mwanza as its new general manager.

Mwanza’s prior roles include regional business manager at New Look where he managed 16 stores for over ten years. He was also previously a store manager for Debenhams.

At The Marlowes, Mwanza will work closely with the centre’s retailers to fine-tune the shopping and guest experience to help drive growth in footfall and revenue.

Lawrence Hutchings, chief executive of Capital & Regional, said: “I am excited that Humphrey has joined the Capital & Regional team as the new general manager of The Marlowes. His wealth of experience and industry knowledge already make him a valuable asset to our company. Given his previous success at Debenhams and New Look, we’re fortunate to have someone of his calibre fill this role.”

Over the next 18 to 24 months, Capital & Regional will be investing in excess of  £15 million in the centre. This will include the introduction of a new Empire cinema, casual dining options and a food court.
