Swindon designer outlet launches immersive reading events this summer

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon is launching a series of free family-friendly reading events this summer.

Run in partnership with Swindon Stories, a campaign from the National Literacy Trust and Swindon Borough Council, the ‘The Big Read Book Club’ will offer a range of educational reading sessions as part of plans to create a family-friendly shopping experience over the summer holidays.

The initiative will see the centre host two days of immersive storytelling with a range of characters each Friday and Saturday from 11am. Families attending the events on 8 August will also have the chance to win a free book to boost their summer reading.

Tina Cumpstey, centre manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon, said: “We joined forces with National Trust’s ‘Swindon Stories’ project to provide a five-week interactive event for children at our centre, as we know how important it is for our younger guests to stay engaged and experience fun educational experiences during the school holidays. We would encourage any family in the Wiltshire area and beyond to visit the centre this summer and discover a world of imagination through reading.”
