River Island and O2 relocate in Coventry

River Island and O2 have both relocated their Coventry stores to the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre,

Fashion retailer River Island has opened a 12,000 square foot flagship store on the upper mall close to H&M, Next and New Look. The shop will sell the retailer’s full range of clothing for women, men and children.  To accommodate the River Island letting, Clarks has relocated to a larger 4,000 square foot store at the centre.

Meanwhile, O2 will soon be commencing the fit-out of 2,800 square foot former Smiggle store at Lower Precinct.

Owned by Royal London Asset Management, the centre is also home to the likes of Pandora, Lush, Trespass, Caffe Nero and The Entertainer. Spanning around 225,000 square feet, it had a pre-Covid weekly footfall of around 200,000.

Andrew Shepherd, director at AS Retail, who conducted the negotiations on behalf of the landlord, said: “We are thrilled to welcome both River Island and O2 to Lower Precinct. These excellent occupiers cement Lower Precinct as the prime retail destination in the city and we have various other lettings and exciting asset management initiatives in the pipeline for 2021 and 2022 delivery.”
