New plans submitted for former House of Fraser site in Altrincham
Plans have been submitted to redevelop the former House of Fraser store in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter into a mixed-use scheme.
Lunar Altrincham Sarl, which owns a long leasehold on the site, is looking to reconfigure the existing 60,000 square foot store, which traded as Rackhams, into a retail, office and residential scheme.
Under the plans, there will be space for three retail units totalling 22,700 square feet on the lower ground and ground floors. There will also be 17,244 square feet of offices on the first floor and a new development of 62 one and two bedroom flats above.
A planning application for the scheme has been submitted to Trafford Council, the freehold owners of Stamford Quarter shopping centre.
The House of Fraser store is currently occupied by Sports Direct following the purchase of the department store group from its administrators by Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley last August.
The new scheme will be adjacent to American gym Orangetheory Fitness and retailers Sostrene Grene and Flannels, all of which have recently joined the line-up at Stamford Quarter.
