Liverpool ONE reports strong footfall post-lockdown
Figures released by the Liverpool ONE shopping destination have revealed that its footfall is now at 86% of the level seen at this time last year while sales have reached 88%.
Its restaurant operators have also been thriving due to the government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme helping to drive sales 35% higher than 2019 from Monday to Wednesday. Turnover for the rest of the week is also strong and is now an average of 9% higher than the same time last year.
Since Liverpool ONE’s began its phased reopening strategy, visitor spend has increased by approximately 18% and conversion is 13% higher than usual.
Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe, said: “Liverpool ONE’s combination of detailed planning, wide streets and open-air layout has certainly been a great advantage for us to be able to welcome visitors back within a safe yet atmospheric environment.
“With 98% of retailers re-pened and trading, effective dining initiatives in place, and summer enlivenment programs on offer, these figures accurately reflect the steady increase in activity and demand which we’ve seen over the last few weeks, and expect to see continue in the coming months.”
Liverpool ONE has welcomed three new retail brands this month with the opening of stores by M·A·C Cosmetics, Castore and SGG Apparel. Over 20 new brands have opened at Liverpool ONE over the last 12 months.
