Intu hires chief financial officer
Shopping centre owner Intu has named Robert Allen as its new chief financial officer.
Due to take up his role on 10 June, Allen was group chief financial officer of Crest Nicholson until 2018. Prior to that, he held a number of senior finance roles at British American Tobacco including regional finance controller EEMEA and head of corporate finance and group treasurer.
Matthew Roberts, chief executive of Intu, said “I am delighted that Robert is joining us. He will bring to Intu his extensive and highly relevant experience of refinancings, M&A, treasury, IT and investor relations, helping drive our strategy of delivering strong underlying centre performance, adapting to the fast-changing retail environment and making smart use of capital.”
Barbara Gibbes, who has been acting as interim chief financial officer, will resume her responsibilities as director of finance when Allen joins the business.
