Intu appoints Dushyant Sangar as chief investment officer
Shopping centre owner Intu has appointed Dushyant Sangar as its chief investment officer.
Previously corporate development director at Intu, Sangar has been credited with playing a vital role in the reshaping of Intu’s portfolio. This has involved leading all of the company’s investment and divestment transactions, including recent joint ventures. He has also been responsible for sourcing and building relationships with Intu’s capital partners.
Since joining Intu in 2010, Sangar has worked on over £5 billion worth of transactions, including the acquisition of Intu Trafford Centre.
In his new position, he will be responsible for implementing Intu’s ongoing investment strategy and managing acquisitions and disposals.
Prior to joining Intu, Sangar worked in real estate private equity at MGPA and investment banking at UBS.
Matthew Roberts, Intu chief executive, said: “A key strategic objective for us is making smart use of capital which includes reducing leverage and prioritising investment that furthers our winning destination strategy. Dushyant will be key in delivering disciplined capital allocation across the business and I very much look forward to working with him.”
