Hammerson appoints Simon Travis as managing director for premium outlets

Hammerson has appointed Simon Travis to the new position of group investment director and managing director for its premium outlets division.

Travis has been working with Hammerson since 1998. In his new position, he will retain his investment responsibilities as group investment director but will also lead the company’s premium outlets division. He will report directly to Hammerson chief executive David Atkins.

Premium outlets now account for 27% of Hammerson’s property portfolio. The company has  interests in 20 outlets in 14 European countries.

Atkins said: “Simon’s appointment will strengthen our already talented premium outlets team, and his experience and leadership will be invaluable as the business seeks to create further value for its guests, brand partners, employees and investors. Premium outlets continues to deliver exceptional results, and is well placed to take advantage of the broader trends we are seeing in the market, such as the growth in shopping-tourism, and the popularity of off-price luxury.”

Hammerson has also appointed Bruce Nutman to the role of senior investment manager.
