Gravity to launch 100,000 square foot active experience at Liverpool ONE

Liverpool ONE co-owner Grosvenor has announced that Gravity will open a 100,000 square foot active experience at the shopping and leisure destination.

Due to open in the fourth quarter of this year, the Gravity venue will span the two upper floors of a former Debenhams site and, at £10 million, marks its biggest investment to date.

Activities will include e-karting, bowling and urban golf and there will also be a food and beverage offering with a bar concept and live entertainment. In addition, Gravity is taking outside rooftop space that will be integrated into the overall experience.

Michael Harrison, co-founder and chief growth officer at Gravity, said: “This is our biggest investment yet and we are delighted to be collaborating with Grosvenor, at a destination that has continued to perform positively despite the recent market challenges. As a business, we are getting stronger all the time and we have no doubt that we will control one million square feet of the high street within the next two years.”

Alison Clegg, managing director of asset management at Grosvenor, added: We are delighted to welcome Gravity to Liverpool ONE, and to be the partner and destination of choice for such a landmark moment in the company’s expansion.  This signing reinforces Liverpool ONE’s credentials as the UK’s leading retail and entertainment destination.  It also makes great sense to be bringing such an exciting concept to Liverpool; as the UK’s most sociable city, it is the perfect home for Gravity.”

Liverpool ONE saw its sales rise by 11.5% in 2021 compared to 2019.  In addition, almost 40 brands have signed, opened or renewed at the scheme in the last 12 months.
