BOXPARK founder Roger Wade to step down as chief executive
BOXPARK’s founder and chief executive Roger Wade is to step down next month and be succeeded by the company’s managing director, Simon Champion.
A former chief executive of Brands Inc, Wade has been at the helm of BOXPARK since its inception in 2011, but will relinquish his current role at the end of May in order to become the company’s brand consultant and a non-executive director. He remains a significant shareholder in the business alongside LDC, which invested in 2021.
Wade said: “It’s been a great ride over the past 10 years but it’s time to jump off and explore new opportunities. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me on this incredible journey but most of all I would like to thank my wonderful team and family for their support.”
BOXPARK is planning to roll out a mixture of ten BOXPARK and BoxHall sites in the next five years with the support of LDC and a property development team. The company has recently announced that its first BoxHall site will launch in Bristol by early next year and will be joined by a site in London’s Liverpool Street in the summer of 2023.
The first site BOXPARK site opened in a shipping container retail development in London’s Shoreditch and was followed by the launch of a site in Croydon. The third site in Wembley features a 20,000 square foot events space. .
