The first Sainsbury's store was opened by John James Sainsbury in 1869 on Drury Lane in London. Having served British customers for over 150 years, the company is now a staple of the retail sector and has 1,400 stores around the UK. Sainsbury’s holds around a 16% market share of the supermarket sector, making it the second largest to Tesco in the country. The company acquired Argos in 2016. Argos is a leading digital retailer and the third most visited retail website in the UK. The partnership allows customers who buy products through Argos to conveniently collect their orders at hundreds of Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.   In addition to Argos, Habitat, Tu, Nectar and Sainbury’s Bank are part of the wider Sainsbury’s Group and all hold similar values to the supermarket's stores.
