The British Home Store looks to referrals to drive new customer growth.
The Al Mana Group acquired the international franchise business and BHS brand and launched its new website at the end of September.
The relaunched site set about getting the basics right, initially focusing on lighting and homeware, the best sellers on the previous website, with kitchenware and fashion following shortly after. Since launch however, The British Home Store has announced ambitious plans for growth, both in the UK and internationally. Developing referrals as a marketing channel forms part of this strategy.
Kev Mallinder, managing director of BHS.com, explained “The BHS brand has a loyal customer base with over 1.2 million British shoppers who have bought online. We want to harness this affection for the brand with a referral programme which rewards loyal customers who share with their friends. We chose Mention Me due to their great testing capabilities which allow us to fine tune reward offers and messaging.”
Andy Cockburn, chief executive of Mention Me, said: “We are delighted to be working with The British Home Store. They were keen to get referrals in place for the Christmas period and we worked with them to get the programme live in just two weeks! The first few weeks of the programme indicate good rates of sharing and we are confident it will become a key marketing channel for them going forward”
