Star Micronics will demonstrate cost-saving printing solutions at Autumn Fair international
The Fair is taking place 4th – 7th September 2011 at the NEC Birmingham
At the Autumn Fair International (Hall 5, The Retail Store), international POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics will be demonstrating a range of cost-saving printing solutions designed for retailers of all sizes. The company says that these solutions successfully combine the very latest in POS printing technology and design and allow retailers to reduce both their IT costs and carbon footprint, as well as benefit from a range of in-built couponing and other software tools designed for enhanced customer communication and ease of installation.
In recent years, Star Micronics has reinforced its position at the forefront of POS printing technology with its world-renowned TSP100 futurePRNTTM series which has been adopted by some of the largest retailers and hospitality operators. This series provides the retailer with a range of tools to facilitate the generation of targeted coupons based on related customer purchases and to achieve a significant reduction in the time and IT support required for multiple printer installation.
The TSP100 can reduce a retailer’s IT costs from power consumption to reduced paper and installation costs.
All of Star’s printers have Energy Star rated power supplies but the latest model goes one step further at no extra cost to the retailer and is proven to use less power than its competition over a 5 year period due to its ‘instant wake up’ sleep mode. The TSP100 ECO has a unique power management system which means the printer will revert with the PC to a very low powered standby mode (0.05W) when not in use while ‘instantly’ waking up when required to print (29W).
This printer further provides retailers with a number of cost-saving features that can help use up to 70% less receipt paper, resulting in reduced paper costs, less frequent paper roll changes at the checkout as well as lower transportation and logistics costs.
Because customers increasingly want their shopping experience to be personalised, Star has developed unique software tools free of charge that achieve this and work over and above the retailer’s current software. These allow retailers to control stock levels through the automatic printing of coupons based on the retailer’s pre-decided products or purchase values relevant to a customer transaction. As a result, seasonal fluctuations, overstock situations can all be addressed by the retailer determining certain ‘trigger action’ key words. The software will ‘word search’ all receipts to ascertain the automatic output of relevant coupons or graphics.
