Product news: Topps Tiles gets off the paper trail
The flooring retailer goes digital with with an automated Accounts Payable solution from K3 Retail and Intelligent Capture.
Topps Tiles says it will save time and money by enabling paper purchase invoices to be converted into electronic images and made instantly available from within their existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution; while at the same time allowing emailed invoices to be automatically captured into the same process.
To increase visibility of invoices across the organisation and to improve the efficiency of the Accounts Payable process, Topps will be able to scan incoming paper purchase invoices with the subsequent images being securely stored. They say this will provide invoice transparency across the organisation with immediate access to the invoice from within the existing ERP system at the simple click of a button.
To further automate the Accounts Payable process, the solution will also allow Topps to receive PDF purchase invoices via email direct from suppliers. Once received, the solution will automatically import the purchase invoice into the capture process without the need to print or scan the document.
Both the scanned images and the PDF invoices will be processed via one single solution seamlessly integrated with K3’s Retail solution recently implemented at Topps to help drive business agility and support an improved customer shopping experience.
Nigel Hickman, IT Director at Topps Tiles, comments: “By using a ‘scan and shred’ strategy, we can use the document and data capture platform to drive back-office process efficiency within Accounts Payable and other areas of the business.
John Little, Sales Director at K3, commented, “Topps Tiles has been working with K3 to transform its systems and processes, commissioning new store, back office and warehouse systems in order to get faster and more reliable access to trading information and drive business agility. The retailer selected one of our partner solutions to ensure seamless integration with Microsoft NAV while driving even greater value from the K3 Retail deployment.”
