New TSP100 ECO POS printer from Star Micronics minimises environmental impact and reduces operating costs
The TSP100 futurePRNT™ series from Star Micronics successfully combines a high performance POS printer with ground-breaking software. Going from strength to strength the series has seen the introduction of a range of models over the last five years including the world’s first dedicated single station Powered USB and LAN models as well as the 250mm/second TSP100GT series.
By providing the original TSP100U futurePRNT with a faster dedicated ECO printer model at no extra cost, retailers can help fight climate change and reduce operating costs. This printer offers an ECO solution based on all aspects of use and manufacture including packaging, paper consumption as well as providing unique power management. The TSP100 ECO is fully Energy Star Compliant and uses up to 40% less power than the majority of similar products today.
With the TSP100 ECO retailers not only benefit from all the features and functionality experienced to date with the TSP100 series but also a number of environmentally friendly and cost-saving tools. These include unique paper saving features that could help the retailer use up to 70% less receipt paper, resulting in reduced paper costs, less frequent paper roll changes at the checkout, lower transportation and logistics costs.
The TSP100 ECO is the only partial cut printer able to achieve a 3mm Top Margin saving 8mm of paper for every receipt printed. Furthermore, this printer can automatically reduce paper from an 80mm wide format to be printed on 58mm wide paper without the need for software changes. In addition, Star has developed a ‘receipts on demand’ tool that prompts the retailer to ask the customer whether a receipt is required. The receipt can then be either printed or cancelled thus reducing paper costs. This function, which can be easily turned on and off, is ideal for low value, consumable items for which a receipt is often not sought by the customer.
