Musgrave and Spedi help smaller stores to replace cash registers with EPOS

Spedi Software has partnered with Musgrave Retail Partners GB to help its Londis stores successfully introduce a low-cost EPOS system to replace cash registers and drive in store efficiencies.

The technology helps businesses to become more profitable by reducing the amount of time spent performing mundane tasks and by providing reports that give an insight into the performance of the business.

The system allows retailers to throw away the pricing gun and replace it with shelf edge labels that give consumers confidence and clarity. The technology allows retailers to place orders and download prices via the EPOS system. Promotional offers are sent via Musgrave Retail Partners GB so there is no need to set up deals via the POS. The solution can also be upgraded to the full Londis Manager System.

Mark Trevorrow, Interim IT director at Musgrave Retail Partners GB, said, “The cost and complexity of existing systems was a barrier to adopting EPOS for a large number of our customers. We needed a solution that was easy to use, reliable and at a price point that is low enough for smaller stores to justify the return on investment over a three-year period. We have had a strong relationship with Spedi software for over 15 years and we turned to them to develop the solution. In just a few weeks a proof of concept solution was created; this was quickly turned into a solution. We are currently installing two sites a week. The Spedi technology is easy to implement, quick to learn and low cost.”

David Mendus, Managing Director at Spedi Software, said, “This technology is a proven way of driving footfall and volumes into your business. A good EPOS system will not only improve the day-to-day operations of the business but it will also help staff to provide better customer service and encourage them to be more productive.”
