Maginus Joins UKWA to lead technology advisory board for UK warehousing industry
Maginus, a leading provider of multichannel retail solutions, has joined the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) and been invited to develop and lead a Technology Advisory Board to help establish a best-practice guide for the industry.
The UKWA has internal Advisory Boards in place to provide strategic leadership and direction for the industry on a variety of matters, but until now there has never been one focusing on technology. However, with solutions ranging from general IT systems and automated packing solutions through to eCommerce and delivery solutions, technology is playing an increasingly critical role in the sector.
In response, the trade body has invited Maginus to play a lead role in forming its advice to its membership on how to adopt new technology as part of an Advisory Board with an all-encompassing remit. To deliver this a range of suppliers across the sector will be invited to join the Board along with other industry experts to ensure that the membership base receives a breadth and depth of information that is relevant to the sectors’ specific challenges.
Peter Ward, Chief Executive at the UKWA said: “Maginus has years of experience in helping businesses in our sector adopt new technologies to help drive business success. We are delighted to welcome them as a member and are looking forward to working with them to form and shape an Advisory Board that will provide our membership with ‘best practice’ guidance for adopting and deploying a wide range of technologies and solutions to improve processes and operational efficiencies.”
The Technology Advisory Board will develop and deliver advice and best practice on how UKWA members can implement technology to improve their processes and ultimately their bottom line. Maginus has an established track record of delivering solutions to the warehousing sector with customers including Widget and Trilanco which it will use to help the Board achieve its goals and help other businesses in the sector to thrive.
Mark Thornton, Marketing Director at Maginus commented: “We’re delighted that the UKWA has asked us to head the new Technology Advisory board. As big players like Amazon move further into wholesaling and distribution, it is more important than ever for smaller warehousing businesses to offer the most efficient and effective processes possible to deliver an excellent customer experience. The key to this is technology.
“We are looking forward to working closely with UKWA, and other members, to shape a truly world-leading technology strategy. We’re confident we will both learn from, and contribute to this Advisory Board over the coming years.”
