LaSer UK outsmarts credit card fraudsters thanks to GB Group

Awarding winning identity verification technology delivers six-fold return on investment

LaSer UK, a provider of credit and loyalty programmes, has seen a six-fold return on investment thanks to a technology solution provided by GB Group, a global Identity Management business. The solution, URU, allows LaSer UK to sign up and verify customers faster and more efficiently than ever before.

The solution has been implemented across all three of its business areas following a successful trial with GB Group. The implementation has been driven by LaSer UK’s requirement for a robust identity verification solution to identify immediately instances of fraud without compromising on the customer’s on-boarding experience. The launch of a new online credit card offering has been one particular area of significant success.

LaSer UK manages over four million customers on behalf of more than 200 organisations and speed and diligence are therefore key when evaluating and signing up new customers. Over the last 12 months, the company has increased this sign-up process significantly, while at the same time making this a much smoother process for customers. 

“When offering customers the opportunity to invest in a credit card, the ability to accurately verify that person is absolutely paramount,” said Ian Frith, Fraud and Underwriting Manager at LaSer UK. “However, it’s also important to make the on-boarding process as easy and uncomplicated as possible, as it could put customers off straight away.
