Completely Retail Marketplace UK show returns for 8th year
Since its inception in London in 2012, Completely Retail Marketplace UK has become the ultimate destination for retail and leisure brands looking to grow their businesses and seek new space.
Marketplace welcomes over 3,600 delegates a year, connecting brands from all over the country, large and small, with some of the UK’s leading property companies.
The successful show returns for its 8th year in London, this time on 30th April and 1st October at Old Billingsgate Market. Cited as one of the city’s most historic venues, it’s situated next to the River Thames overlooking iconic landmarks such as The Shard and London Bridge – providing a fantastic backdrop for the show.
Attendance at the show is restricted to retailers, landlords, developers and agents. This creates an environment that is specifically structured to accommodate retail property acquisitions, potentially removing weeks of back and forth negotiation and accelerating the process.
This year’s upcoming April show, sponsored by The Gym, Co-Op and Avison Young, has a host of great retail brands on board to exhibit, including ALDI, Costa, Lidl, Iceland, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s. Leading experts in the property industry, such as Savills, Cushman & Wakefield and British Land will also be exhibiting.
Unique from any other UK deal-making event, the exhibitor stands at Marketplace are all the same size with identically-sized branding, creating uniformity and a level playing field for all. Essential services such as Wi-Fi, phone chargers, refreshments and lunch are also provided and at no extra charge.
The Marketplace 2019 shows will also bring back the ever-popular Soapbox sessions. This feature area is a hugely anticipated part of the event, giving new, emerging or expanding retailers the opportunity to take to the stage and introduce themselves and their brands to a targeted audience of landlords and agents.
Over the years, Soapbox has played a key part in the development of many embryonic ventures that have gone on to become high street success stories – including London Grace, Thaikun, Gravity, Zabardast and Chuku’s London.
“As a new restaurant business, Completely Retail Marketplace was a fantastic opportunity to raise our profile with property agents and landlords,” says Emeke, co-founder of Chuku’s London. “Our Soapbox presentation was very well received and led to some fruitful connections and conversations.”
With such a successful reception year on year in its home market of the UK, Marketplace has expanded overseas in recent years and is now held in Stockholm, Prague, Amsterdam and Madrid (new for 2019) to facilitate an environment for retailers looking to enter or grow within an international market.
Dom Millar, CEO of The Completely Group, comments: “It is very exciting to see the exceptional growth of Completely Retail Marketplace, which started just seven years ago as a single UK event and has now grown to dominate its market and become a multinational brand.”
