B2B and B2C retail group increased conversion by 15% in just 30-days with Klevu

Online retailers using site-search providers to power the rest of their ecommerce website product discovery are reporting 30x ROI, plus significant increases in ecommerce conversion and average order values.

LSE Retail, UK home and lighting retail group switched to AI product discovery solution, Klevu, to power on-site ecommerce search and category merchandising on one of their brands, Iconic Lights, and are reporting a return of £30 for every £1 spent on the tool. Ecommerce conversion also increased a dramatic 15% within one month of switching on Klevu Smart Category Merchandising. In addition, LSE saw a 5% decrease in category bounce rate and a 15% increase in the value of category pages.

“We are thrilled to have a site-search and merchandising solution in place that really works, and is easy for us to manage. I love watching the ‘all items’ category on the website change in real-time in line with the products trending and popular with customers,” says Leila Boyd, Ecommerce Manager at LSE Retail.

Site search is the most accurate and relevant place to pull data from for ecommerce personalisation. Rather than relying on heavy manual segmentation or theoretical targeting, using Klevu, the LSE Retail team were able to easily merchandise the website and let the AI take insights from search and browsing behaviour and apply it to site-wide product merchandising. What’s more, the LSE team could easily change tack. For example, quickly boosting sale items prior to Christmas, and then flip the switch to boost new items just after.

By letting Klevu AI work using real-time shopper intent from site-search and browsing behavior, online retailers can create shopping experiences that convert and avoid shoppers getting stuck in a personalisation filter bubble.

Ian Scarr, Head of UK at Klevu says, “Using the same provider for site-search as retailers do for other website personalisation is just a no brainer. You will get better data from search to inform your product listings and recommendations, and consolidate the businesses responsible for your ecommerce conversion.”

Through AI and NLP-powered discovery technology, Klevu enables merchants to deliver hyper-relevant, personalised product discovery experiences powered by real-time shopper intent, and balancing automation and control. Other retailers using tools from Klevu include Puma, Paperchase, Curvy Kate and Menkind.
