Volkswagen Battersea reopens at state-of-the-art new site

Lookers Volkswagen has opened a new £10 million showroom at its existing site in London’s Battersea.

Situated on York Road, the new space is the result of a partnership with Linden Homes, which has seen £100 million invested in a mixed-use housing and commercial scheme.

The 90,000 square foot dealership has accounted for £10 million of the joint investment and has space to display 90 used cars and 17 new cars, together with an expanded range of accessories. In addition, the servicing department has been revamped and includes 14 service and repair bays as well as two dedicated MOT bays.

Visitors to the showroom can browse a range of car models and relax at an in-branch coffee shop. There is also a dedicated children’s play room on each floor that is equipped with books, activity sheets and iPads.

Several office spaces are also available for customers to use while waiting for their cars to be serviced.

Although the new site is now open for business, there will be an official launch running between 7 and 10 March where vintage cars will be on display and visitors will be offered hot food and refreshments.

John Sands, brand manager at Lookers Volkswagen Battersea, said: “We’re thrilled with the new dealership and the increased facilities it has given us. The showroom is an impressive space that is delighting our customers and giving them the space they need to enjoy their experience with us to the fullest. The environment we’ve created is ideal for such a prestigious brand and it’s a pleasure to welcome our customers through its doors.”
