Marks & Spencer to close 17 stores

Marks & Spencer has announced the next 17 locations where it will be closing stores as part of plans to shutter more than 100 branches by 2022.

The closures will affect over 1,000 M&S staff members.

Shops set to close include the following locations:

  • Ashford
  • Barrow
  • Bedford
  • Boston
  • Buxford
  • Cwmbran
  • Deal
  • Felixstowe
  • Huddersfield
  • Hull
  • Junction One Antrim Outlet
  • Luton Arndale
  • Newark
  • Northwich
  • Rotherham
  • Sutton Coldfield
  • Weston Super Mare

Sacha Berendji, retail, operations and property director at M&S, said: “Proposing to close stores is never easy, for our colleagues, customers or the local community, but it is vital for the future of M&S. Where we have closed stores, we are continuing to see an encouraging number of customers choosing either nearby locations and shopping on M&S.com.”
