Tim Hortons to enter UK

Tim Hortons, the Canadian café and bake shop, is to roll out stores across the UK this year.

The first store will open on Glasgow’s Argyle Street this spring and will sell Tim Hortons signature coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, and iced drinks as well as baked goods, breakfast and lunch items.

The brand will launch further stores in the UK over the next 12 months.

Tim Hortons said the UK is a key strategic market for the brand and marks it first move into a European country.

Gurprit Dhaliwal, chief operating officer of Tim Hortons UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve witnessed Tim Hortons phenomenal success in Canada, and wanted to replicate this in Great Britain. It’s hard to explain just how important Tim Hortons is to Canadians – it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a way of life and a place of ‘home’, and we’re positive Great Britain will fall in love the brand.”

Part of Restaurant Brands International with shops found in nearly every small town and city in Canada, Tim Hortons is now one of the country’s most popular brands. It is estimated that eight out of 10 cups of coffee sold across Canada are served at Tim Hortons.
