What does your company do? / What is your USP?
Ceridian is a global human capital management (HCM) technology company with operations across North America, Europe, and APAC.
Dayforce, our flagship cloud HCM platform, is the always-on people platform for the global workforce. As a result of combining pay, time and talent in a single database and platform, Dayforce helps increase global compliance, workforce intelligence, and people empowerment which are vital for retailers to succeed in today’s increasingly real-time, fluid, and skills-based world of work.
What’s special about the platform and your approach?
Winning in the new world of retail comes down to how employers can anticipate change and deliver experiences that customers and employees want, right now.
As the pace of change accelerates, Dayforce helps our customers adapt, evolve, and win in a new world of work. Trusted by more than 5,700 customers and used by over 50 million people around the world, Dayforce provides human resources, payroll, benefits, workforce management, and talent management functionality in a single platform. This helps significantly reduce IT and integration costs whilst simultaneously improving the user experience for end users, managers, and support functions.
What advantage does it add?
Our unique solution provides retail organisations with access to real-time data and insights that allow them to better manage their teams and their business. Combining payroll, human resources, benefits, workforce management, and talent management in a single application, Dayforce offers a single, robust platform to better streamline and consolidate your people systems. This can drive improved communication and visibility among your workforce while also enabling you to help manage your organisation’s compliance requirements.
How does a product/service implementation look like and how do you measure success?
Ceridian’s implementation process combines a data-driven approach with technical expertise and testing for real outcomes to ensure a smooth transition to go-live. We measure each implementation by how quickly and effectively our customers are able to go live with Dayforce. After go-live, we monitor projects closely to ensure they deliver quantifiable value for our customers.
How are retailers using your systems to gain competitive advantage and what does best practice look like? Can you share a case study with us?

What challenges and opportunities do you see in UK retail for the rest of 2022 and into 2023 / What challenges are retailers facing right now to prepare better?
Continuous disruption is the new normal for retail companies as fierce competition fuels a need for ongoing innovation and a renewed focus on the customer. When you add in post-Brexit regulatory trends and the headwinds of slowing economic growth and supply change disruption, there’s certainly a lot on the minds of UK-based retailers.
To stay ahead of the competition, retail organisations must continue to re-evaluate their technology offerings to navigate changing compliance, help employees stay engaged, and evolve to meet shifting consumer expectations.
How will you address these challenges and turn them into successes?
If there’s one constant in today’s world it’s that nothing stays the same. Dayforce helps organisations stay ahead of change, make better decisions, and empower their people to reach their full potential.
What is on the horizon for you as a company?
In today’s fast-paced, constantly changing world, a company’s employee experience should put their people front and centre. That includes supporting their financial wellness.
Before the end of this year (2022), Ceridian will bring Dayforce Wallet, our market-leading on-demand pay solution, to customers in the UK. An extension of Dayforce Payroll, Dayforce Wallet gives employees greater control over their financial well-being through access to their earned pay, when they need it.
With on-demand access to earned pay, retailers can modernise their pay experience, win talent, and make their people happier and more productive, while reducing turnover and associated costs. This is a huge differentiator in an ever-changing labour market.
