Wickes opens new Chelmsford store

Home improvement retailer Wickes has opened a new store in Chelmsford as it continues to invest in its store estate.

The shop at Baynes Place, Waterhouse Lane, marks a return for Wickes to Chelmsford and adds to its existing Essex stores in Dagenham, Maldon and Braintree.

Officially opened by the town’s deputy mayor, Jude Deakin, on 28 July, the space features a contemporary kitchen and bathroom showroom where customers can access expert advice and a free design service.

Lee Byrne, store manager of Wickes Chelmsford, said: “We’re delighted to be opening a new store in Chelmsford and expanding on our existing branches in Essex. We will offer the residents of Chelmsford and the surrounding areas a wide range of home improvement products, services, and expert advice and we look forward to welcoming customers over the coming months and years ahead.”

To celebrate the opening, the store is offering customers 15% off until Sunday 6 August and will soon be launching a Facebook competition where customers will have a chance to win a trolley worth up to £2,000 to complete a project in the local community.
