Wickes names Carol Campbell as retail director

Home improvement retailer Wickes has appointed Carol Campbell to the newly created role of retail director.

Due to join the business on 6 January, she will be responsible for all retail operations across Wickes’ 232 stores.

Campbell has worked in retail for over 20 years and most recently served as vice president of central operations at Walmart Canada. Prior to that, she worked with Woolworths Group in Australia and also  spent 12 years at Aldi in the UK in a range of store operations and corporate roles.

In her new position, she will report to Wickes chief operating officer Fraser Longden.

Longden said: “Wickes has recently embarked on its journey as a standalone business and I’m delighted that Carol is joining us at this very exciting time.  Carol’s wealth of experience across retail operations will provide the right level of support and focus at the heart of our business, helping our store colleagues to deliver the best possible experience for our customers so they can feel house proud.”
