Wickes hires Mohamed El Fanichi as chief information technology officer

DIY retailer Wickes has appointed Mohamed El Fanichi to the newly created role of chief information technology officer.

The move follows the demerger of Wickes from Travis Perkins back in April.

Due to join the company on 1 September, El Fanichi will report directly to the company’s chief executive David Wood and will be a member of Wickes’ executive committee.

He has been working as chief information officer at The Landmark Group UAE since March 2017 and prior to that held a number of technology and business systems leadership roles at Kingfisher.

Wood said: “Wickes has recently embarked on its journey as a standalone business and I’m delighted that Mohamed is joining us at this very exciting time. We pride ourselves on being a digitally led, service enabled business and this is a critical role for us as we build on our strengths and accelerate our digital capabilities.”
