Travis Perkins chairman to step down
Wickes owner Travis Perkins has announced that Stuart Chambers has informed its board that he wishes to step down from his role as non-executive chairman.
The company said no firm date has been set for his departure although it is expected to be sometime during the first half of 2021.
Chambers took up the role of chairman in November 2017 after joining the board two months earlier. Prior to that, he was chairman of Rexam from 2012 to 2016 and ARM Holdings from 2014 to 2016. He has also previously served as a non-executive director of Tesco, Tesco Bank, Manchester Airport Group, Smiths Group and Associated British Ports Holding and is a former chief executive of Pilkington Group.
Travis Perkins will now be starting a search for his successor with the assistance of professional search advisor.
