The Cotswold Company opens 13th showroom after record sales
The Cotswold Company, the digitally-led premium handcrafted furniture and homeware brand, is set to launch its 13th UK showroom in Knutsford this summer, creating at least six new jobs.
Founded in 1996 in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Cotswold Company specializes in thoughtfully designed, carefully crafted furniture and accessories, built to last using traditional woodworking techniques. The new showroom marks the brand’s first presence in the North West and will be located in the Grade II-listed Union Bank building at 127 King Street.
The site, which has remained vacant and derelict for several years, will undergo a complete transformation, enhancing the local high street while preserving Knutsford’s architectural heritage. The Cotswold Company team will carefully restore the building’s original features, including decorative walls, homely room sets, and original fireplaces, creating an immersive retail space. Customers will be able to explore the brand’s best-selling premium furniture and home accessories, alongside a fully integrated Upholstery Hub.
The launch follows a period of strong trading and continued growth for The Cotswold Company. In January, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly sales, reaching £11 million, with a record-breaking single trading day exceeding £700,000 in orders. February and March have continued this positive momentum, reflecting the success of the brand’s omnichannel model and the growing appeal of its high-quality, made-to-last furniture.
Following the recent opening of its 12th showroom in Harpenden, The Cotswold Company aims to open up to three additional showrooms this year as part of its strategic expansion to become one of the UK’s leading premium furniture and homeware brands.
Ralph Tucker, Chief Executive Officer at The Cotswold Company, said: “We’re excited to open our 13th UK showroom later this year. Our retail showrooms are a critical part of our omnichannel strategy. Alongside Knutsford, we are focused on expanding our UK footprint, building on the success of our recent Harpenden opening, which is trading ahead of expectations. We plan to open three more showrooms in strategically important locations this year.
This expansion allows more customers to experience our products firsthand and reinforces our commitment to high-quality, made-to-last furniture.”
