The Conran Shop hires new chief executive

The Conran Shop has hired Peter Jenkins as its new chief executive.

The appointment will be effective from 1 June.

Jenkins worked as chief executive of the Dwell furniture retailer from 2018 to 2021 and is a former managing director of the Le Pain Quotidien cafe chain. His retail career also includes senior roles at Gant, FatFace, Value Retail and Selfridges.

Enrique Lax Bañon, The Conran Shop executive chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter Jenkins as the new chief executive of The Conran Shop. Peter has a wealth of experience in leadership roles within sector-leading brands, most recently as chief executive at Dwell. We are confident that Peter’s business acumen, past experience and understanding of our brand is a great addition at this exciting stage of development at The Conran Shop.”

In addition to his business interests, Jenkins is a development board member of the Tender charity.

Jenkins said: “I am thrilled to be joining The Conran Shop. Its reputation as the design destination is unparalleled, and I feel very privileged to be leading a much-loved icon into the next stage of its journey. Our team, our customers and a continued obsession with great design will always remain central to everything we do.”
